How Does Your Garden Grow?

I planted my garden last weekend so I guess I have to be grateful for all this rainy weather. Actually, I hate rain and can't wait for warmer weather but I also love tomatoes from the garden. I guess it's a compromise.

This year I planted grape tomatoes, regular tomatoes, zucchini, and crookneck squash. Hopefully I'll have yummy and fresh veggies this summer!

I Quit!

Yes, it's true. I have worked my last night shift in the Newborn ICU. Devin is now working at Omniture full time and that includes good things like more money and insurance. So now I get to stay home with Sam full time. And no, I am not pregnant so quit asking and quit touching my fat belly (Brett)! As with any change, there are good things and some hard things. I am loving sleep! After 5 1/2 years of night shifts, you forget how to go to sleep early, get up early and actually sleep for all of the hours in between. Wow, what a difference! I am really missing all my friends in the NICU. I will really miss seeing my Mom so much too. It's kinda like graduating High School. You really won't miss the school so much, but you will miss all the great people. You say you will stay in touch, but we all know that doesn't always happen. I really hope that my friends will keep in touch (hint, hint) because I now have lots of time for emails, phone calls and play dates. I am so excited to stay home and be a Mom, but not exactly sure what to do. This has been made even harder by our 21 day quarentine (chicken pox exposure post). My first day at home with Sam we played in the backyard and I made Play-doh. How domestic!

Who wouldn't want to be with this cute boy all day?!

Mother's Day

I am so grateful for my mom. I am so grateful for her example. She is truly the busiest woman I know yet she does everything well and never skimps on the important things. I love ya.

Kelli and Felicity and Me and Sam. Two sisters and daughters who are now mothers. Life comes at you pretty fast!

Assorted Stuff

My two favorite people in the whole world! Those are some mighty fine looking boys!

Sammy's first scraped knees. We were at the park and he fell down about a hundred times. The boy is tough and I didn't even know he had scraped both knees until it was bath time. He runs so fast and has yet to master the transition from grass to pavement. He's one tough kid!

Sam loves Chocolate Chips! I love Chocolate Chip Cookies (as does my Sunday School Class) so I buy the big bag at Costco. Sam walks around with the huge bag, brings them to me and cries for me to open them. The Chocolate Chips now have to stay in the basement with the food storage.

Sam splashed so much one time that I put on my Knott's Berry Farm poncho. I think it scared him because he hasn't splashed as much since.

Sammy's first experience with Sidewalk Chalk. We can only do this right before his bath because there is as much chalk on him as on the sidewalk!

Quarantine!

Yes, we are quarantined at our house. Well, really only Sam is. He was exposed to Chicken Pox on Mother's Day. Devin and I have already had the Chicken Pox and Sammy has been vaccinated so we are hoping he won't get it. (The vaccine 85% effective, and if he does get anything, it will be a mild case).
So this means that we will be MIA for at least the next 21 days as we wait to see what happens. We are really sad to be missing so many people and so many events (birthdays, weddings, etc). Feel free to call me as I'm sure I will be having Cabin Fever!
