Rainy Days

We have had a few rainy days in a row. Today I thought we could all just stay in our jammies. Great idea! So we did, until Sam peed all over his and Molly got breakfast on hers. I'm still living it up in my jammies though. At least I'm comfy as we listen to the rain on the roof and are so grateful for our nice warm house. Staying home all day is hard for me but also fun. Hopefully more fun. And if you get any pictures like this, it's all worth it.

Hooray for Heather!

Heather Mildenstein took our family pictures a few weeks ago. A-mazing! It was fun and they turned out so great. This is the second time she's done our pictures and I just love the experience and results. I can't wait to get these printed and hung up around our house. Heather, please pencil us in for next year. Actually, use pen.

Lots of Pictures

We have had a really fun summer so far. It started with Jeremy, Melissa, Johnson, Lily and Eli Hansen coming for a visit from North Carolina. We went to parks, went to the scera pool, played trains (Sam's favorite), went to the farm, miniature golfing and just lots of hanging out. We had such a great time with them. Lily also got baptized while they were here and it was really fun and special.

Isn't Lily so pretty? I took these pictures to display at her baptism. It was really fun and made me excited for Molly to get older.

Molly can still fit in her blessing dress so we snapped a few "white dresses" pictures. Lily was a great sport. Molly was not!

We had a great 4th of July! Parade, BBQ, croquet, swimming, more food, homeade ice cream and lots of fun with family. My favorite holiday of the year.

Sam had a Herbie Birthday Party. (You know, the Love Bug). Sam told me after a few weeks of planning a train party, "I want to skip my train party and have a Herbie party. Because I'm really into Herbie right now." His highlight was seeing this "brown Herbie" in the dentist parking lot on his birthday. Apparently it's the little things.

And we all had a birthday. Devin is now 33, Krista is 30 (BIG OUCH), Sam is 4 and Molly turned 1. There were lots of presents, candles, cake and ice cream and family to share it all with. We are all so blessed!

I made these two dresses: the little one for Molly and the big one for her cousin Felicity. I got the pattern for Mother's Day and couldn't wait to try it. I haven't sewn any clothes in at least 5 years so don't look too closely. But I thought they turned out pretty good and I have a few improvements to try next time. Kelli (my sis and Felicity's mom) bought the blue fabric for me while she was going to school in BYU-Hawaii. I thought it would be great to make something for both of our girls.
The inspiration comes from Elizabeth who makes the cutest dresses for her super cute daughter. Hopefully next time my dress will look as good as one of hers. Thanks Elizabeth!

I think the girl wearing the dress is pretty cute too! It looks cute with jeans or leggings underneath too.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was great! Our church is at 2 pm (GAG!) but we made the best of it and just had a real leisurely day. It actually started the night before with a 30 minute massage for me and then I came home, put on some pjs, and read magazines in bed. Heaven!
On Sunday we had Elaine, Devin's Mom, over for a huge breakfast. Then we went to church and then over to my Grandma's for some more wonderful food.
I really loved the Orchid Lei that Devin got me. I wore it all day and felt beautiful and special. Plus I smelled great!
The dress Molly is wearing was the dress that my cousin, Grace, wore to our wedding. She was 1 year old at the time. My Aunt Cheri saved it for 7 years until I had a girl and then gave it back to me. Isn't that so sweet?!
It only took Molly 10 minutes to rip the big flower off the front. Oh well. Nothing a little hot glue can't fix.

Pictures by Sam

Sometimes I let Sam take pictures of Molly. Then I make him delete all the ones without her "cute face". He loves to chase her around and she loves to be chased around. Win Win. He's not too bad either. My two trouble makersThe best Daddy ever!

Still Here

We're still here. We're just trying to survive the winter. Sam is really close to being potty trained (working on #2), and Molly is super mobile. It's busy, sometimes crazy, but also pretty fun.

Sweetest Words

I think the sweetest words I've ever heard are:

I LOVE YOU TOO, MOM

Since it took him 18 months to say MAMA, I think this phrase at 3 1/2 is pretty great.

I am so BLESSED!

Seriously?!

This morning at 1:15 am, Sam was waking me up saying "Mom, I need a napkin." I had gone to bed around midnight and it took me a long time to actually get up.

Sam needed a napkin because he had barfed all over the floor!
Seriously?!
Yes.
There I was on my hands and knees cleaning it up.
Luckily he was smart enough to do it on the wood floor, not the carpet.
Twice.
This wouldn't normally be such a big deal, but we've been homebound for about 3 weeks because Sam, Molly and I have all had RSV. Luckily we avoided the hospital and all felt back to normal on Monday. Monday was a pretty good day after being cooped up for so long.
He started barfing on Tuesday morning.
Seriously?!
Can we just dip our house in Lysol, please?
Hope your house is healthier than ours. Guess we'll see you this summer!

Growing Up

Molly is now 6 months old. Where does the time go? It is getting a little more difficult to take these pictures because she is becoming more mobile. She is rolling all over the place. She's trying hard to sit up by herself. Not really trying to sleep through the night. 16 lbs and growing.

I LOVE that face!
Sam and Molly just love each other. Sam makes her laugh the hardest. When Molly is napping (rare), Sam always asks where she is. "I need her."
We tried bathing them together. We'll have to wait until Molly can really sit up all by herself. She was just too slippery, but Sam was in heaven.
Molly is learning to eat cereal and veggies. YUM!
Molly trying to eat a Biter Biscut. Please tell me that your house sometimes looks like that. Please!
Sam is learning to dress himself. Sort of. But the potty training is going pretty well. We just have to get it by August (for Preschool).

Sam became a Sunbeam! I may have had a few tears. His teacher is awesome, she's a kindergarten teacher. What could be better? He loves it!
In fact, he loved his crown so much that he wore it for the next two days. To Target and Costco. He is so happy to be a Sunbeam!
