Excuses of a Blog Slacker

See the plus sign in the right window...
That's right, We're Pregnant! But I am the one throwing up all day. I've been so sick that I was throwing up for a whole week before the test even came back positive. Hasn't really been any fun until today. We heard the heartbeat for the first time and that was great! We are really excited and hope that the nausea will soon go away. I am about 11 weeks along and my due date is July 10th.
We are grateful for all the help we've had from family. Devin is really amazing! He is running this house and not complaining about it at all. I never stop complaining. Oh well, what's new.

Multiple Halloween Parties=Random Haloween Pictures

The first Hallowen party we went to was my Mom and Dad's ward party. My mom was Little Red Riding Hood and my dad was the Big Bad Woff (my maiden name is Woffinden, get it?). They were great and won third prize. My dad even sang some weird song about Little Red Riding Hood and then tried to convince us it was a real song. I guess it really is. Anyway, it was fun and dinner was yummy.
Sam was a cute Monkey and Devin and I were Hawaiian tourists.

Then we went to Devin's work party which gets more insane every year. It was even on the news. He was a main contributor, so he was busy all week making caves, dragon and other scary items. I think his fire-breathing dragon was sweet! What a lot of work, I mean fun.

After the party, Sam and I went to see my Grandma who works at the Information Desk at the mall. She wanted to see Sam's costume and we did a little trick or treating at the mall. It was so great. Indoors, stroller friendly, and lots of candy in a small space. Not a bad idea.

(I was Jane from Tarzan and Sam was a monkey. My dad didn't know who I was but said, "I figured you were from a Disney movie." He knows me well. Devin wouldn't be Tarzan. He had to be a knight for his work party. So sad.)Then we went to our ward party and saw even more friends and got even more candy.
What a fun night!

Halloween Preview

We, mostly Devin, love Halloween around here. He takes after his dad, who was the biggest Halloween NUT I ever met. He had crazy costumes, a different accent for each costume and a very spooky haunted house and yard.

I don't really love carving pumpkins but I found a cute alternative at my favorite store, Target. Sam laughes at his clown pumpkin every time we pull in or out of the driveway. He even gave my princess one a kiss!
I told Sam to make a funny face. Not Bad!

Super cute glow-in-the-dark skeleton jammies from my brother Blake's special friend Allison. They are super cute. (The jammies, and Blake + Allison)

Sam's Bedtime

Sam is a fast runner! After his bath, I always have to chase him as he runs around naked. We have a strict no-naked-bums-on-the-furniture rule and he does not seem to understand that yet. Here are some pictures from a recent bedtime.

He thinks he is all ready for bed and wants me to read him that truck book. Silly boy!

Me reading seemingly endless books while he slowly drinks his bottle (I know, I know. Please no bottle comments).

This is the cute Thomas the Train blanket I made for him. I really just took fleece, folded it in half, sewed around the circles and put a binding on it. Not too hard, and Sam seems to like it. At least he lets it in his crib. That's the first step.

Wishing you all a happy bedtime!

For my Friends

My Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies

3 c flour
1t baking soda
1t salt
1 cup softened butter or margarine
1 c sugar
1 c packed brown sugar
1 t vanilla
2 eggs
12 oz chocolate chips (1 3/4 c)
You can add nuts, but why ruin a good cookie?

Beat butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy. Beat in eggs. Gradually add dry ingredients. Stir in chocolate chips. Place scoops on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 10-12 minutes. Enjoy!
Betcha can't eat just one!

Peaches and a new skill

I learned how to can peaches. It was a lot of effort to get those 12 jars but don't they look pretty all lined up?! One nice thing about staying home is that I now have time to try new things. I am getting really good at making PB&J without crusts and making things with play-doh. I guess I am replacing one skill set with another. I miss my friends at work, but I really couldn't be happier to stay home. Hurray for me!

Need a Laugh?

Have you seen The Incredibles? I think Sammy looks just like Edna Mode (with these glasses on). Who is Edna Mode? She is the super suit maker, of course! Ah, now you remember.
P.S. Thanks for the crazy glasses from China, Ron. Your influence is alive and well in our home.

I forgot!

I forgot that we went to the Thanksgiving Point Farm last month. Oops! It was tons of fun and I'm surprised I forgot to post our pictures. Maybe it's because they all turned out a little blurry. Do you think I had something on my camera lens? How do you clean your camera lens?

Sorry they are blurry, but enjoy!Sammy loved the little goats but did not want to get out of his stroller. Stroller=Safety.

Sammy really loved watching other kids ride the ponys. Maybe next year!

Picture Overload!

We had some family pictures taken last month and they turned out so great! I couldn't be happier! Kelli's friend, Heather Mildenstein, took them and she is a great girl and a great photographer. I'm sure you'll agree. (She is running a photo special now. Hurry before it fills up!)

All Olympics, All The Time

I LOVE the Olympics! Don't be surprised if you find Sam and I still in our pajammas at noon. We love cheering for the USA. Sam likes watching swimming the best. He has the cutest little fist pump! Hope you are all enjoying the amazing events. If you need something to cheer for, watch the men's swimming final of the 4x100 freestyle relay. It doesn't get any better than that!
Special Shout Out to Josh McAdams. Great boy married to a great Timpview girl! Try to find the Steeple Chase (track and field) and cheer him on.

I am grateful for

Tonight I am grateful for many things...
My sweet little fishy and his super cute bum
My sweet niece Felicity and her cutie pie Mom (Kelli)
Sam starting to learn how to share. As long as no one takes anything too important.
My little man with a sticker from Target on his head. That he wore for 2 hours. And yes, it is in Spanish.
The thing I am most grateful for is my wonderful husband. Not only does he work so hard every day to provide for us and to let me stay home, he rushes home to save me when I'm having a bad day. He is my knight in shining armor and I love him very much.
Thanks for loving me back, D-dog!

Two of a Kind

I have been fighting against everyone who says that Sam looks "just like Devin". I think he looks a lot like me. Well, I guess I was wrong. So, to everyone out there who thinks you are right, you are. (Thanks to Lori Bean for being the only person to ever say that Sam looks like me!)

Devin at age 2

Sam at age 2

If I have to be wrong, at least I am surrounded by all these handsome men.

Sammy's 2nd Birthday!

Time really flies! Today was Sammy's 2nd birthday and we had lots of fun. We had a party at Grumpa and Grandma Julie's house. We had a BBQ, cake and ice cream, presents and Sam and I swam for about 10 minutes (Sam didn't want to swim, he just wanted to play with his new toys). What a fun day. He has brought so much joy into our lives and I wouldn't trade these last two years for anything!

Good Morning and Happy Birthday!

The awesome cakes that I, his awesome mom, made for Sammy's big day.

Couldn't get his hard hat on fast enough to play with that TONKA.

Sammy-Boy,

We love you so much and we couldn't live without our little monkey. You have grown up so much in two years.

You will always be our little boy!
